Bovilis® BVD
BVD (Bovine Viral Diarrhoea) is the most important viral disease of cattle in New Zealand.
Recent New Zealand research gives a clearer picture of the role BVD plays in cattle production. BVD is usually a hidden disease. It prevents full production in a number of ways, without attracting the attention of the farmer or veterinarian.
Bovilis® BVD makes a vaccination-led control programme possible. Bovilis BVD breaks the cycle of BVD infection. With Bovilis BVD, vaccinated animals are protected from infection, and the birth of new PIs is prevented.
Bovilis BVD – BVD guide
The BVD guide is an all-inclusive booklet that demystifies BVD in plain language. The guide includes sections on the effects and economics of BVD, PIs and TIs, and how it behaves in different cattle systems. |

Bovilis BVD – Dairy farmer brochure
The BVD and dairy brochure covers many of the same topics as the BVD guide, but with a focus upon dairying. |
Bovilis BVD – Beef farmer brochure
BVD behaves differently in beef herds than it does in dairy, so we have produced a specific resource for beef farmers. |

Bovilis BVD – Grazing brochure
The off-farm grazing of young dairy stock has been a major
development in dairy farming systems in New Zealand. Grazing is however a major risk factor in the introduction of BVD into a herd. The Bovilis BVD grazing brochure covers the important factors concerning BVD in grazing calves and heifers. |
Bovilis BVD – Bull brochure
Breeding bulls Persistently Infected (PI) and Transiently Infected (TI) with BVD virus are a serious threat to the reproductive performance of both breeding dairy and beef herds. The Bovilis BVD bull brochure covers the important information for bull breeders or those purchasing bulls. |
